HB Estructuras Metálicas founded in 1945 (purchased by ETHUSS GROUP in 1993) and Fábrica de Estructuras Sade Eléctricas – SADELEC, founded in 1985, merged for operational purposes in year 2000 creating HB SADELEC, which resulted in a larger and more effective productive unit capable of manufacturing more than 35,000 tons of metallic structures per year.
During the 40’s and 50’s, HB dedicated to the manufacturing of all kinds of metallic structures in order to contribute to the industrial development of the country, such as warehouses, roofs, factories, full industries, storehouses, buildings, repair shops and all kinds of bridges for the road and railroad infrastructure of the country. During the 60’s and 70’s, HB participated in the construction of industrial projects in the cement, sugar and iron steel sectors. In the 80’s and 90’s, it expanded its participation to the energy, mining, oil, institutional and commercial sectors. Furthermore, it performed works in Ecuador and Venezuela and provided structures to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, Chile, Venezuela and Ecuador.
Likewise, since its foundation and taking advantage of the expansion of the electric power interconnection system in Colombia, SADELEC has manufactured structures in galvanized steel for towers of power transmission lines of up to 500 kV and poles and equipment supports for power substations for all energy sector companies in the country and Latin America.
In addition, with the development of Information and Communication Technologies in Colombia, since the year 2000, SADELEC took on manufacturing metallic structures used in the expansion of telecommunication networks, such as self-supporting towers, monopoles and fast deployment solutions, among others. It also started performing turnkey contracts for the expansion of cellular networks 2G, 3G and 4G-LTE which included: search and purchase of properties, design, manufacturing, construction and implementation of electronics (BTS, microwave and satellite links, etc.).
Since 2000, HB SADELEC entered into the road infrastructure sector, participating in road concessions, road construction projects and APP (Public- Private Association); as well as in the energy sector, performing hydroelectric projects as investor, builder and operator.
In 2003, SADELEC expanded internationally by the hand of Eléctricas de Medellín Ingeniería y Servicios exporting towers for transmission lines, broadening its portfolio of customers and products in most countries of South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Currently, HB SADELEC has offices in Lima - Peru, from where it promotes projects and broadens its presence internationally.
